Kappa is an Italian manufacturer and supplier of sportswear, established in 1916. The company is headquartered in Turin. Initially founded in 1916 as Società Anonima Calzificio Torinese, later known as M.C.T., the company’s initial products were socks and underwear. In the 1960s, the brand Aquilla, under which the company operated, was changed to Kappa. By the late 1960s, the company began producing clothing officially designated as unisex (brands such as “Robe di Kappa” and “Jesus Jeans”), and by the late 1970s, the decision was made to produce sportswear. The company’s logo features the silhouettes of a boy and a girl sitting back to back.
