On February 10, 2025, the FIFA World Cup 2026 Houston Host Committee proudly announced NRG Energy as its first official local sponsor for the tournament. NRG Energy, known for its commitment to clean energy and community involvement, will play a key role in the upcoming World Cup matches, which will be held at NRG Stadium. For FIFA sponsorship purposes, the stadium will be referred to as the Houston World Cup Stadium during the tournament.
