Launching a Global Partnership

As part of this partnership, Oman Air celebrated its 30th anniversary by unveiling a co-branded plane livery, which was featured in Oman Air’s fleet for the first time. This partnership marked the airline’s first-ever collaboration with a Premier League club, helping the airline gain exposure through Stamford Bridge and Chelsea’s digital platforms, while providing exclusive experiences to fans.

Chris Jurasek, Chelsea’s CEO, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying: “We are delighted to welcome Oman Air as our Official Airline Partner. Both Chelsea and Oman Air share a drive for innovation and success, and this partnership will enhance our global fan experience.”

AbdulAziz Al Raisi, CEO of Oman Air, added: “Partnering with Chelsea FC is an excellent opportunity to connect with the club’s worldwide fanbase and showcase the excellence of Oman Air and the beauty of Oman itself.”

Short-Term Partnership

As Chelsea’s official global airline partner, Oman Air was poised to engage in various promotional activities leveraging the club’s international influence. The deal promised to enhance the airline’s global visibility while supporting Oman’s 2040 Vision, positioning Oman Air as a premium destination for travel and tourism.

However, in March 2024, an unexpected turn of events led to The Telegraph reporting that Chelsea and Oman Air had terminated their partnership prematurely. Despite the partnership being valued at approximately £2 million annually, sources suggested that the early conclusion of the deal stemmed from the need to comply with profit and sustainability regulations.
