Through the partnership, Oracle introduced “Match Insights – Powered by Oracle Cloud” to provide in-depth, real-time statistics during Premier League matches. These insights, which include advanced player performance metrics and match analysis, are delivered instantly to fans watching globally on TV or mobile devices.
Oracle’s innovative machine learning models process live data from Premier League matches to generate immediate results, tracking everything from player movements to game-changing events. These insights provide a deeper understanding of the live action, giving fans a more comprehensive view of the match beyond just goals and assists.
This metric tracks the positioning of players both in and out of possession. It provides insights into team formations, helping fans understand how teams adjust their tactics when attacking or defending. During the match, fans can see how teams react to each other’s strategies, adding an extra layer of analysis to the game.
One of the most exciting features introduced by Oracle is the Live Win Probability statistic, which calculates a team’s chances of securing a win or draw by simulating the remainder of the match 100,000 times. This calculation takes into account factors such as the score, player positions, red cards, penalties, and even the time remaining in the game. The Win Probability statistic gives fans a dynamic sense of how the match is unfolding.
The Momentum Tracker measures the likelihood of the team in possession scoring a goal within the next 10 seconds. Based on thousands of historical matches and current game events (such as passes, tackles, and dribbles), this feature adds another exciting dimension to match analysis by highlighting when a team is most likely to score.

As part of its partnership with the Premier League, Oracle has introduced two unique awards to celebrate exceptional moments in the league:
This award uses the Win Probability statistic to identify the most dramatic turnarounds in matches. By calculating the likelihood of a team’s victory or draw at any given point in the game, the model highlights moments when teams defied the odds to secure a win. For example, Tottenham Hotspur’s stunning 3-2 victory over Leicester City in January 2022 won the inaugural award. Other notable winners include AFC Bournemouth for their incredible 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in 2022/23 and again for their 4-3 comeback victory against Luton Town in 2023/24.
Congratulations to @afcbournemouth, the @Oracle Most Improbable Comeback award winners for the second season in a row! 👏

Their 4-3 against Luton was only the fifth time in Premier League history a team won from three goals down!#PLAwards pic.twitter.com/YGDniAKJGN
The Most Powerful Goal award celebrates the most powerful strikes in the Premier League, specifically goals scored from outside the penalty area. Only goals without deflections are considered, and the speed of the ball is measured from the moment it is struck until it crosses the goal line. Fernandinho won the inaugural award in 2021/22 with a shot clocking at 117.6 km/h, followed by Said Benrahma (107.17 km/h) in 2022/23, and Moussa Diaby (109.84 km/h) in 2023/24.
Oracle’s machine learning models also provide a wealth of additional statistics that help paint a complete picture of a player’s performance throughout the season. These insights include:
