The Premier League has signed a multi-year agreement with Fanatics Collectibles, making it the exclusive provider of trading cards, trading card games, and sticker collections starting from June 2025. This partnership marks a significant shift in the football collectibles market, as Fanatics expands its presence within the world’s most-watched football league.
With this deal, collectors and football fans will have access to exclusive trading card collections featuring all 20 Premier League clubs, allowing them to engage with their favorite players and teams through high-quality collectible products.
Fanatics Collectibles, a division of Fanatics, has rapidly become one of the most influential brands in the trading card industry. It holds exclusive licensing rights for major leagues, including:
Fanatics’ involvement in football trading cards is not new—its Topps brand has been a key player in football collectibles for decades. Topps was the Premier League’s official trading card partner from 2007 to 2019, producing a range of sticker albums and collectible cards that became a staple for fans. The company’s Merlin-branded collections were introduced in 1994 and quickly became some of the best-selling football sticker albums globally.

Originally founded in 1938, Topps became synonymous with trading cards, particularly in baseball. However, after losing its Major League Baseball (MLB) license in 2022, Fanatics acquired Topps, further strengthening its collectibles division. This acquisition allowed Fanatics to expand its reach into football, ensuring it could continue developing official trading card collections for some of the world’s biggest leagues and tournaments.
Beyond trading cards, Fanatics already has strong commercial ties within English football. Its e-commerce and licensed merchandise division holds agreements with The Football Association (FA) and several Premier League clubs, making this latest deal a natural expansion of its presence in the sport.
The partnership between Fanatics Collectibles and the Premier League is expected to reshape the football trading card industry. With its digital-first approach, advanced distribution network, and commitment to innovation, Fanatics aims to enhance the fan experience, making collectible trading cards and stickers more accessible and engaging than ever before.
This deal also raises questions about potential new digital collectibles, as Fanatics has explored NFT-based trading card products in other sports. The introduction of Premier League digital collectibles could be a future avenue for the company, further modernizing the traditional trading card experience.
