Malaysia Airlines, the national flag carrier of Malaysia, has inked a long-term sponsorship deal with Manchester United. The airline has become the official commercial Airline Partner of the English club.
The partnership was announced on March 22nd at an industry trade fair in Kuala Lumpur. Former Manchester United defenders Patrice Evra and Wes Brown served as the club’s media representatives.
A day before the announcement, Malaysia Aviation Group reported achieving a positive operating profit for the second consecutive year, amounting to RM889 million, marking a 64% improvement from RM540 million in 2022.
Founded on May 1st, 1947, Malaysia Airlines is headquartered at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It serves as the flag carrier of Malaysia and is a member of the Oneworld airline alliance, which includes major airlines like Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, and SriLankan Airlines, along with Fiji Airways as a Oneworld Connect partner.
