Highlights of the week: Record EPL deals and Go Mongolia’s entry into England

This past week has been eventful with several high-profile sponsorship announcements across football. SponsorsGo has compiled the most significant deals from June 10 to 17, 2024.

England

Manchester City – JinkoSolar (official solar energy partner)

On June 12, Manchester City announced a contract signing with JinkoSolar, a Chinese solar panel manufacturer. This global partnership designates JinkoSolar as the Club’s Official solar energy partner.

Through this collaboration, JinkoSolar will engage with Manchester City fans worldwide to promote the adoption of solar energy.
JinkoSolar will also support Manchester City’s initiative to transform its training facility, the City Football Academy, into one of the largest producers of renewable energy in the world of football.

This project is a significant step toward Manchester City’s goal of achieving carbon net zero by 2030, a target announced earlier this year.

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., established in 2006 and headquartered in Shanghai, China, has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2010. The company is known for its leading-edge solar module manufacturing.

Tottenham Hotspur – bp pulse (official electric vehicle (EV) charging partner)

On June 12, the club announced two deals involving BP. One of these deals is with bp pulse, which has become the official electric vehicle (EV) charging partner of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. As part of this partnership, bp’s EV charging brand will collaborate with the club to expand EV charging stations across its sites. This initiative aligns with the club’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact, including the goal of decreasing the number of supporters traveling by private car on matchdays.

Chargemaster Limited, branded as bp pulse (formerly BP Chargemaster, Chargemaster, POLAR, and Polar Plus), is a supplier of EV charging infrastructure based in Milton Keynes, England. The company provides charging units for home, business, and public use, and operates the largest public EV charging network in the United Kingdom.

Tottenham Hotspur – Castrol (official partner of both the men’s and women’s teams)

Castrol will establish an ‘Away Fans Travel Fund’ in partnership with the Club to facilitate shared travel for UK-based fans attending select away matches for both the men’s and women’s teams. Additionally, Castrol will work with the Club to engage Tottenham Hotspur fans and Castrol customers worldwide through digital promotions and overseas activations.

Since 2000, Castrol Limited has been a subsidiary of BP, which acquired the company for $4.73 billion.

Wolverhampton – Debet (front of shirt partner)

On June 11, the parties announced a new principal and front-of-shirt sponsorship agreement for the next two seasons, making Debet the club’s new main sponsor. The club revealed that this partnership is the largest in its history.

— Wolves (@Wolves) June 11, 2024

The deal will span two seasons, after which Premier League clubs will voluntarily remove gambling sponsorships from the front of matchday shirts at the end of the 2025/26 season. Debet replaces Astropay, a payments provider that had been featured on Wolverhampton’s shirts for two seasons starting from 2022/2023.

Established in 2019, Debet has rapidly become one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing gaming platforms, offering a diverse range of sports betting and casino gaming products.

Crystal Palace – Net88 (front of shirt and training wear partner)

On June 12, Crystal Palace announced that NET88 will be the men’s official front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2024/25 season. This record two-year deal will see NET88 become a principal club partner, with its logo also featured on the official training wear.

In addition to the shirt branding, NET88, which provides online gaming services, will also receive visibility across Selhurst Park on matchdays and on the club’s website. According to the official press release, this deal is the largest in Crystal Palace’s history.

As the front-of-shirt sponsor, NET88 will replace the car marketplace Cinch, which had been featured on Crystal Palace’s kits since the 2022/2023 season.

Crystal Palace – Guavapay (official affinity card partner)

On June 7, Crystal Palace announced the signing of Guavapay as the club’s official affinity card partner. — Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) June 10, 2024

This partnership aims to provide a global presence for Mongolia through all Fulham FC channels and platforms. As Mongolia’s first foray into sports partnerships, this collaboration seeks to increase Mongolia’s visibility through brand promotion and marketing initiatives, sharing stories about the country’s rich heritage.

The official announcement took place on June 9, 2024, at the Mongolian Football Federation stadium in Ulaanbaatar. During the event, The Minister of Culture Mrs. Nomin Chinbat received a signed Fulham FC shirt from former Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, symbolizing the launch of this unique partnership.

In addition to providing the team’s sportswear, Castore will also become a founding partner for Everton’s new 53,888-capacity stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, set to open in the summer of 2025. This partnership will grant Castore access to commercial opportunities and media rights associated with the stadium.

Founded in 2015 by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, Castore specializes in high-quality sportswear and equipment. The company will collaborate closely with Everton’s official retail partner, Fanatics, to enhance the club’s retail offerings.
