In the video, the legendary Brazilian footballer, a two-time winner of the “Golden Ball,” played for Phoenix FC, which is at the bottom of the NWL Division 8 in Essex. They won a contest by Paddy Power and earned the opportunity to bring the “superstar” to one of their games.

Phoenix FC manager, Brian Edwards, expressed, “The lads couldn’t believe it when Ronaldo showed up – I hadn’t registered him, so I used the name ‘Dave Walsh’ and put him on the bench.”
At 47 years old, Ronaldo stepped onto the field when his team was already losing 4-0. In the end, his team lost 7-0, and he went to have a beer after the game.
In this video, “the Phenomenal” promotes Paddy Power’s new feature – the Super Sub, where a bet on one player is transferred to another player who comes on as a substitute.
Since 2022, Ronaldo Nazario has been an ambassador for the sports betting and gambling company Betfair, which, like Paddy Power, has been part of the international sports betting and gambling company Flutter Entertainment plc since 2015.
