VfB Stuttgart has officially entered a new chapter in its commercial journey as LBBW (Landesbank Baden-Württemberg) begins its tenure as main sponsor for the 2025/26 season. The partnership was formally presented with the release of the new home kit, which prominently features the LBBW logo on the club’s iconic red chest band.
The collaboration, announced earlier this year, becomes active from July 1, 2025, and runs initially for three seasons, covering both the first team and youth development programs. This marks LBBW’s largest-ever sponsorship deal, aligning with the bank’s broader strategy to grow brand relevance and visibility across Germany and internationally.
LBBW aims to deepen its roots within the Baden-Württemberg region while enhancing its national profile through the VfB partnership, using football as a platform for community engagement and brand storytelling.
The official kit launch took place following VfB’s appearance in the DFB Cup final, where the new sponsor logo appeared on the jersey for the first time. The 2025/26 home shirt features a subtle embossed pattern inspired by Stuttgart’s historic ‘Stäffele’ staircases, underlining the deep cultural and geographical ties between the club and the city.
“That moment during the cup final was unforgettable,” said Rainer Neske, CEO of LBBW. “This partnership reflects both our connection to the region and our ambition to elevate the LBBW brand.”
For VfB Stuttgart, the alliance with LBBW extends beyond commercial benefit. The bank will play a role in social, cultural, and economic development throughout the Stuttgart area and wider Baden-Württemberg region.
Alexander Wehrle, CEO of VfB Stuttgart, emphasized the broader vision:
“This partnership is about building something lasting – supporting not only football but also the region’s people and institutions. It’s another milestone in our mission to elevate the Württemberg identity on a global stage.”
Rouven Kasper, VfB’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, noted that both organizations share a focus on performance, innovation, and regional pride.
“LBBW’s ambition matches our own. With the jersey’s visual references to Stuttgart and the new sponsor logo front and center, the connection feels natural and powerful.”
Headquartered in Stuttgart, LBBW is Germany’s largest state-owned bank, recognized for serving SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) with tailored financial solutions. Beyond banking, LBBW plays an active role in supporting art, culture, education, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
Key cultural and educational partners include:
Through its foundation, LBBW supports initiatives like Wissensfabrik – Unternehmen für Deutschland e.V. and Gründermotor GmbH, contributing to innovation and business development across the region.
