Dimitar Berbatov is widely regarded as one of the greatest Bulgarian footballers of all time. Born in 1981, he signed with Bayer Leverkusen at the age of 18. In 2002, as part of the German club, Berbatov played in his first UEFA Champions League final. He later joined Manchester United, where he played in another final in 2009. Unfortunately, both attempts were unsuccessful. Nevertheless, Dimitar is a true sporting icon in his country, having won the Bulgarian Footballer of the Year award a record seven times. He also holds the record for the most goals scored for the Bulgarian national team (48). One of Berbatov’s greatest achievements was winning the Premier League with MU. Dimitar also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, Monaco, and PAOK, before finishing his career at the Indian club Kerala Blasters in 2018.
