Lukas Podolski, born on June 4, 1985, in Gliwice, Poland, is a former German professional footballer known for his powerful left foot and dynamic attacking play. Raised in Germany, Podolski began his professional career at 1. FC Köln (Cologne), where he quickly became a fan favorite due to his goal-scoring abilities.
Over his illustrious career, Podolski played for several prominent clubs, including Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal. He also had successful stints with Arsenal in the English Premier League, Inter Milan on loan, and Galatasaray, where he added domestic and international titles to his trophy cabinet. He later played in Japan for Vissel Kobe and concluded his professional career with Górnik Zabrze in Poland, before retiring in October 2024 after a friendly match at his boyhood club FC Cologne.
