AC Milan and Konami: A Long-Term Partnership in Football and Esports
On April 7, 2022, AC Milan and Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. signed a long-term sponsorship agreement, with official Italian sources suggesting a seven-year contract duration.

The partnership officially commenced on July 1, 2022, granting eFootball exclusive rights to feature AC Milan’s San Siro Stadium, official team kits, and 3D-scanned player likenesses in the game. Additionally, this agreement marked a historic milestone, as Konami became the club’s first-ever official training wear partner.
As a result, the eFootball logo appears prominently on the training kits worn by the men’s first team during training sessions at the Milanello Sports Centre and in pre-match warm-ups for both domestic and international competitions.
Integration into eFootball and Gaming Events
On August 25, 2022, Konami launched eFootball 2023, introducing new features and updated player data. The release also saw the return of AC Milan and Inter Milan as fully licensed clubs, meaning players could now use the full squads, official kits, and San Siro Stadium in the game.
By the end of November 2022, AC Milan strengthened its presence in the esports industry by participating in Milan Games Week & Cartoomics 2022, the largest gaming and esports event in Italy.

Formerly known as Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), the eFootball series is one of the most recognized football video game franchises developed by Konami. Over the years, it has evolved into a free-to-play digital platform with regular updates instead of annual releases. The most recent installment, eFootball 2024, launched on September 7, 2023, continuing the franchise’s commitment to realism and innovation in virtual football.
